Recently Purchased Home in Bowmanville, Ontario

We buy homes from many people in many situations, and we work with sellers who aren’t able to sell on the market. A good example of this is a home we recently purchased in Bowmanville, Ontario. Three brothers inherited the home from their parents after they had passed, and they reached out to us because they didn’t know where else to turn.

The house was a financial burden, they couldn’t support it or manage the upkeep, but the brother that was living in the house had no other options. He had been in the home since the mid 60s. He couldn’t afford rent or have the ability to purchase another home, but also couldn’t continue living in the house as it was.

We worked with the family and their lawyers for about 6 months before we closed on the property. We spent a lot of time on the phone with them, guiding through the entire process, answering their questions and supporting them. We searched for rental options for him, and ended up finding a program run through the City of Oshawa that placed him in a home that included rent, food & utilities.

On closing day we helped him out with moving some of his belongings, getting him organized and ready for his transportation to his new home. We will never forget how happy and grateful he was - although it was difficult for him to leave his childhood home, he was so appreciative and thankful. Later that day he called us from his new place and was over the moon - he was so excited to have a shower. The shower at the home he was living in had not worked properly for SEVEN years. 

We love what we do, and we love being able to help people in need. We are not just about the sale, but about the whole experience - helping people with their next steps and giving them a fresh start. We feel lucky to be able to make a difference in peoples lives.
